Hi all: Is there anyway from disabling this extremely irritating piece of software on one's system?
I'm trying to view information on a webpage, but, because of this piece of crap, I cannot get to the info on the page I want to view.
Thanks
I know from with in jaws you can have jaws chose not to display flash movies. Go to jaws verbosity and turn flash movies off. Hope this helps.
Or you can delete the flash folders by searching for "macromedia" and deleting anything that is found.
I was beginning to experience that more and more, now even some christian broadcast stations try to push it on you. I don't know how that does in windows xp yet, but it was very annoying on my old computer. Why can't they just put a link for people who want it to download it?

If you're using Jaws, the best thing to do is to turn it off on a case by case basis under personalized settings.
Go to the page where the annoying flash is displayed and press shift+insert+v. A list view of options will appear. Arrow down to "allow flash movies", and make sure that it is set to off.
It's better to do it this way as opposed to uninstalling flash altogether, because in some instances, you will want flash content, such as when it is used to output audio or video on a particular page.

yes but we blind people have no use for flash do we? I mean isn't flash some sort of animated graphics? do you still get that dialogue in xp, asking you if you want to install and run macromedia flash player? I thought I heard from somebody that it was already on windows xp.

Sometimes flash can be useful, especially if there's audio you would want to hear, but most of the time, flash player is annoying. But thanks for all the tips.
